The Mango House
The Mango House
My introduction to The Mango House began before I ever stepped onto the property. A year earlier, I had filmed 9 PM, a home designed by Studio PKA for the same family. While different in scale, both projects shared a common architectural language, one intimate and urban, the other expansive and rooted in the landscape. When Studio PKA invited me to create a film marking ten years of The Mango House, it felt less like discovering a new project and more like continuing an ongoing story. Told through the reflections of architect and homeowner Puran Kumar, the film traces the evolution of the house from a grove of mango trees into a place shaped by gatherings, celebrations, and everyday life. More than a document of architecture, the film explores how memories become embedded within space, and how a home gathers meaning over time.
